Annealed wire is made of black-finish steel and is used in construction as well as in various industrial processes. In barbed wire we work with Cebú High Tension — high-carbon wires twisted together with barbs set every 5 inches — and Vaquero I. The steel chain shows minimal elongation and has been fully tested for strength, tension and torsion.

Questions about wire and chain
Wire rod is untreated carbon steel used to form reinforcement shapes. Annealed wire has a black finish and is more ductile, which is why it is used to tie the cage.
Cebú High Tension uses high-carbon wires twisted with barbs every 5 inches, designed for fences that must hold tension over long runs. Vaquero I is the general-purpose alternative.
The steel chain is tested for strength, tension and torsion and shows minimal elongation. For any lifting operation the stated load capacity and the corresponding safety factor must be respected.
