Pegaestireno and Kretbond Basecoats

EIFS systems and polystyrene mouldings changed the Mexican facade: they allow volume, shadow and detail with no weight and no formwork. But polystyrene does not bond to just anything, and there is no going back: if the chosen basecoat lacks the right flexibility and adhesion, the moulding lets go or cracks in the first strong heat-and-cold cycle.

We carry two products covering the complete system. Pegaestireno is an adhesive mortar designed to bond and coat expanded and extruded polystyrene boards and decorative elements, indoors and outdoors; as a finish it allows texturing for a unique appearance. Kretbond is a Portland-cement-based adhesive reinforced with styrene-acrylic resins and additives giving great adhesiveness and workability over cement, gypsum and polystyrene panels.
